Winter Artapalooza 2014

Whoops!  These beautiful pictures have been hiding on my computer and I forgot to share them from our Winter session.

Dali Inspired Birds: Students made these watercolor backgrounds featuring wet blending techniques before designing their unique birds.  We used oil pastel to lay in the ground and used permanent marker to create the wobbly legs.

Thread Trees: In the holiday spirit, students created these fancy trees by dipping embroidery thread in glue and wrapping them around the molds (birthday hats) wrapped in parchment paper.  Students layered different colored thread together and then had the opportunity to use glitter and sequins to fancy up their creations!

Painted Paper Collages: Using acrylic paints and texture combs we first decorated a variety of fancy colored papers.  The next day students cut up the pieces and created these collages.

Check out the beautiful work!
